Commack High School Varsity Football vs. Riverhead

A win in the books for Commack. Way to go, guys.

I wasn’t sure we were going to get this game in. The sky got so dark I was shooting at ISO 12,800 for a while. It did end up raining but only for a couple of minutes so we really lucked out.

While I’m on the subject of ISO, if you’ve read my previous posts you know I mainly shoot on auto-ISO unless it’s under a cloudless sky. I have my upper ISO limit set at 12,800. This means that once it gets dark enough to require an ISO higher than 12,800 the camera will start lowering the shutter speed instead of raising the ISO any higher. My camera’s ISO goes above 12,800 but those settings get a bit too noisy for my liking and, with both in-body and lens stabilization as well as panning the camera, I can afford to let the shutter speed drop to at least 1/800 sec. and get some decent shots.

That’s it for today. I’m going to end this post here since I’m waaaay behind in edits.
