Commack High School Varsity Football vs. Sachem North
This was one of those games. I was on the wrong side of just about every play. I think I got a shot of the back of every player on the team. Some games are like that. No matter where you stand the play runs away from you.
Here’s a quick tip on face/eye autofocus recognition. This is a truly wonderful invention but it doesn’t work well on football players with helmets on. It has a difficult time recognizing their faces, let alone their eyes, unless they’re really close. And if they’re near a sideline with other people in the background the AF will most times lock on to a face in the background and ignore your player. I keep face/eye recognition set to “off” when photographing football unless I’m getting a shot of a coach or cheerleader.
