Commack High School Girls Varsity Volleyball vs. Patchogue-Medford - Suffolk Championship

Congratulations to the two-times Suffolk Championship volleyball team! Onward to the Long Island Championship.

This match was played at Walt Whitman. They have a nice, bright gym with white walls and a light wood floor, all of which translates to no yellow skin. But, alas, almost every gym has some issues and the maroon bleachers were the challenge here. The light bouncing off them made for a redish color cast. You would think you could correct this with the tint control on your camera’s manual white balance or with the tint slider in your favorite editing app, especially since this color looks so close to magenta. I tried it and it didn’t quite work. I think those bleachers are more red than magenta so adding aa small cyan color correction worked much better. Some images still required some white balance tweaks because of the color shift when the lights’ current cycled. Also, I don’t think the lights covered the full color spectrum since the colors were a little off.
