Did a quick portrait session for the Commack girls varsity volleyball team on Monday. Even managed to get a couple of shots of the JV team.
These photos were shot in the middle school gym during a practice by both teams, so I had to move quickly. No time to setup lights so I used the existing lights. This created the usual color cast problems from the floors and yellow walls so some color correction was in order. Between the yellow cast and much cooler daylight coming in the windows, it’s impossible to totally correct the colors but you can at least get close. The team V-shots were converted to black and white and given a high-key, high-contrast look.
Camera was a Fujifilm X-T3 using a 35mm f/2 prime lens for all shots except the wide team shots, which were taken with a 16-55mm f/2.8 zoom. The photos were post-processed with Capture One Pro.
That’s it for this post. Next up - girls cross country.
