Commack High School Girls Varsity Lacrosse vs. Northport - Quarterfinals
Commack’s girls lacrosse team’s season ended with a loss to Northport but they had a great season, making it to the quarterfinals. Congratulations to them.
This post is a short one because I’m just returning from assignment upstate and going through over 5000 images taken over three days. Not to mention more playoff games and a concert. Busy time of the year.
This game was played in mostly sunny weather on Northport’s brand new turf field. I shot mostly from the corners with the sun at my back. This gives me a view of Commack’s goal at the other end of the field and Commack’s players running toward me. I’m about even with the opposing goal so I can get most shots on goal as long as they’re not made from my side of the field. You need a long lens to do this, at least a 400mm or equivalent. If your lens is shorter you may want to move upfield slightly to get the far end then move back down when the play comes toward you. Or you can just camp out at one end and wait for the play to come to you.
That’s it for today. Next up - Unified Basketball.
