Congratulations to the Commack girls lacrosse team on their win over Half Hollow Hills in a rather chilly game.
You know it’s cold when the refs are wearing ear muffs. Now I see why their shirts are four sizes too big. They have down jackets under them.
The weather brightened up towards the end of this game, so much so that it was impossible to shoot into the sun. That’s fine because it forces you to get photos of the defense players closer than you normally would until they swap sides. I’m also trying not to shoot to much from the sides into the center of the field because we have metal bleachers that produce a lot of reflections on both sides of the field. For most of these images I’ve positioned myself at the end of the field, usually in the corner but sometimes a little closer to the net depending upon how daring I feel. That way I have mostly trees in the background. The downside is, I’m closer to the line of fire but that’s sports photography.
That’s about it for this post. Lots of frozen players. Next up - an equally cold baseball scrimmage. Have fun.
