This was an exciting, close game that didn’t quite go the way Commack had wished I’m sure, but it was fun to photograph. Also managed to get some portraits of the seniors before the game.
This was played on a Saturday at noon so I had to get a new custom white balance. We have high windows in our gym and daylight streaming in makes enough of a difference in the color temperature that you need to get an updated reading. You’d be surprised at how little daylight it takes to alter a white balance setting taken solely under house lights.
So, just a word to the wise - it pays to get a fresh custom white balance setting if you believe the lighting has changed. Even if there’s not a mixed light issue, bulbs tend to age out and their color temperatures may shift.
This is the last week of regular season games before the playoffs start. Spring sports will start before you know it.
