Was able to photograph both the boys and girls cross country teams on Thursday. That doesn’t happen often but the timing of each start allowed me to run back and forth in time to catch both teams. So … you’ll see both teams in this gallery.
There really isn’t a lot of options when looking for places to position yourself on the Sunken Meadow course. A lot of the course is wooded which means dappled light. That’s a post-processing nightmare so I try to avoid it. I usually hang out at the bridge near the start and then move to the other bridge just before the finish. Both areas are out in the open with good light coming in from a perfect angle. The only thing to watch out for is that the backgrounds, while good, are dark woods so you’ll need to dial in at least 2/3 stop negative exposure compensation to prevent blowing out the skin tones. Outside of that, it’s fairly straightforward as long as you avoid the orange cones (don’t get me started).
Hoping to get field hockey today. Have fun.
