Congratulations on Commack’s 4-0 win over Pat-Med in the Danny Mihnovich Memorial Game. This was one of two games I shot last Saturday, the other being the Senior Day football game with Brentwood.
Lots of bright sunlight for this one, which means lots of contrasty photos. My post-processing strategy in Capture One for high contast photos is to first set the exposure based on preserving details in the highlights. This may make the midtones look dark but then I lighten the shadows to compensate. Usually this requires adding back a little bit of contrast using the contrast slider. If necessary, I’ll brighten the midtones a tad more using a curves adjustment. Finally I’ll back off any blown highlights using the highlights adjustment and/or curves. That’s it.
Short post today. I still have a load of tennis photos from yesterday’s match to post-process. Barely made it through that one when it started raining. Was supposed to shoot cross country today but that was postponed due to rain. Is it ever going to stop raining?
