Had a great time photographing the Parking Lot Party at the Lark Pub in East Northport. The proceeds of the party went to benefit the families of Master Sgt. Chris Raguso, a Commack resident and firefighter, and Tech Sgt. Dashan Briggs of Port Jefferson Station, members of the New York Air National Guard, who died in a helicopter crash while traveling near Qaim in the Anbar Province of Iraq in March.
A moving ceremony included the Northport Pipe and Drum Band. Not many dry eyes during that one. Following the ceremony the crowd was entertained by two local bands, the Tweekers (Chris Raguso's brother Marc is a guitarist) and The Mead Brothers (Raguso's dad is the bass player).
SweetWater Brewing Company came up from Atlanta to release a new beer, Jolly Green IPA, named after a restored HH-3E Jolly Green Giant helicopter stationed at the Westhampton Air National Guard base, the home base of Raguso and Briggs, and which Raguso's brother Marc helped brew.
Everyone had a great time for a great cause.
