Commack High School Girls Varsity Lacrosse vs. Northport
Another cold one, as you can see by the parkas worn by the refs. Can't catch a break with this weather.
As long as we're on the subject of "cold", one piece of photo equipment that comes in extremely handy in conditions like this are gloves. I've gone through a lot of pairs of gloves, some of which were specifically designed for photographers and others that weren't. Some gloves were designed to be thin enough to use with a camera but I found that these were neither thin enough nor warm enough. What I eventually settle on were a pair of Freehand Stretch Thinsulate gloves. They have fingertips for each forefinger and thumb that pull back and are kept in place by magnets. Although this exposes your fingertips to the cold it allows for much better sensitivity to operate your camera and zoom lens. They're relatively warm with high cuffs. Definitely worth it.
