This will be a short post since I’m way behind in post-processing images.
Ever wonder why some of your images shot in low light are noisier than others after you get done post-processing? I’ll bet that if you go back and take a look at the exposure adjustments, the images with the greatest exposure increase will be the noisiest. We all get antsy about increasing the ISO on our cameras to compensate for low light conditions because we think it will add noise to our images, and we’re right, it will. But here’s the thing - under-exposing using a lower ISO and then increasing exposure during post-processing will add more noise than if you had shot with a higher ISO and correct exposure. Try it out with your camera and see if I’m right.
