Congratulations to the Commack girls volleyball team on their win over William Floyd in a senior night match.
Senior night is always fun to photograph. The one thing I always have to remember to do is to lower my ISO and shutter speeds for the family portraits. My camera is usually set for shooting sports which means a higher shutter speed and, consequently, a higher ISO. You obviously don’t need a high shutter speed to photograph people that aren’t moving so you can afford to also lower your ISO for a cleaner image.
This was the last indoor shoot with Fujifilm’s XT-3 and it reinforced my previous evaluation that this is a significantly faster camera in both processing and autofocus than the XT-2. I believe it’s now on par with the DSLR’s I used to shoot with, as far as autofocus speed, and the image quality and dynamic range is better. I think this one’s a keeper.
That’s it for this post. Next post will be field hockey and tomorrow is homecoming. Hope the weather holds out.
